Hareem Shar'eem is now offering classes! We are a Clevleand-based troupe of dancers performing a unique blend of belly dance and world fusion. Our five members teach at locations all around the Cleveland area including downtown Cleveland, Shaker Square, Cleveland Heights, Twinsburg and Kent.
If you’ve ever wondered about the ancient art of Middle Eastern Dance, aka Belly Dance, now’s your chance to try it out for yourself. Though there are many varieties of this dance form, the basics apply to all and that is what Hareem Shar’eem is offering you.
Classes will initially concentrate on movement basics – especially isolated movements. In addition, choreographies using the movements learned will be taught. As we progress through the basics, other aspects of belly dance will be incorporated into the classes, such as the use of zills (finger cymbals) to accent the music, props (such as veils, or balanced baskets or swords) for performance, improv dancing with and without a partner, and concentration on specific forms of dance.
