The Foundation for Community Betterment has chosen four local Ohio families to be recipients of its annual spring Cleveland fundraiser, to be held April 1, 2006 at Murray Hill Galleries in Cleveland’s Little Italy neighborhood.
The All Fool’s Day Fete—A Black and White Affair, is the latest philanthropic endeavor sponsored by the Cleveland chapter of the national fundraising organization, which since its inception has raised more than $350,000 for individuals and organizations in need. Area residents who wish to support a good cause and have a great time doing it are invited to attend the creative dress event.
“What we do is help people that otherwise might not receive help,” said local committee co-chair Shannon Curley of Cleveland Heights. “Every person who comes to the event and contributes will know exactly where his or her money is going. They will have a chance to meet the recipients and know first hand the impact they are having. And, they will know that they are helping people who are themselves active in the community so the gift will continue on.”
The event will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Murray Hill Galleries, 2026 Murray Hill Road. Tickets for the fundraiser are $60 in advance, $75 at the door. A special rate of $50 is available to students.
