Story topic this week…
The Collinwood Tragedy: The Worst School Fire in History

For this Cleveland Stories panel, author James Badal will discuss the devastating tragedy and the community’s response to the Collinwood School Fire. Badal’s extensive research reveals how the citizens of Collinwood were desperate to find someone to blame. Rumor and suspicion splintered the grieving community. Meanwhile, many also rose to the challenge of healing and recovering like city charities, churches, and multiple relief agencies. Fundraising efforts to assist families totaled over $50,000—more than $1 million today!
