WRHS brings together and displays over 150 of the most compelling and treasured items from its vast collections of costumes, manuscripts, automobiles, books, photographs, furniture and decorative arts, spanning a period of over 400 years of history. The exhibit takes place in several galleries throughout Society's East Boulevard headquarters.
“Treasures” allows the public to see the rare, spectacular and valuable, but it also reminds visitors that treasures can also be ordinary objects that have extraordinary stories. A public program series will further explore issues relating to the treasures – with topics including collecting antiques, preserving heirlooms, and reading history through objects.
