Rock Stars’ Cars & Guitars Cruises into The Henry Ford June 9 Exhibit features some of the hottest and coolest rides of rock ‘n’ roll
This summer, Henry Ford Museum, part of The Henry Ford, in Dearborn, Mich., takes a ride on the wild side and finds out what truly drives rock status with the hot new exhibit, Rock Stars’ Cars & Guitars, opening to the public on June 9, 2007. More than nineteen legendary cars and thirty guitars that are synonymous with rock ‘n’ roll music are on display, including the rides once owned or driven by such beloved rock idols as Elvis Presley, John Lennon, Billy F Gibbons of ZZ Top and Van Halen. In addition, several distinctive guitars including those from Kirk Hammett, Dusty Hill, Rick Nielsen, Bo Diddley and Chuck Berry are also on display.
Rock Stars’ Cars & Guitars features cars and guitars from the collections of the Petersen Automotive Museum, Hard Rock Café, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc., Experience Music Project and several other private lenders. This is a rare opportunity to see an entourage of automobiles that symbolizes America’s love affair with their cars and rock music. The exhibit is presented by Detroit Muscle, a CMI-Schneible Group Company. Entry to this limited engagement is free with Henry Ford Museum admission or membership.
“Rock ‘n’ roll and custom-car culture are important expressions of American freedom and individualism,” said Patricia Mooradian, president, The Henry Ford. “This exhibition presents an opportunity to see some of the iconic cars and guitars of rock ‘n’ roll and get a glimpse into a rock star’s life through personal styles and individual artistic expressions.”
