Rarely seen version of the Jules Verne classic exploring the main stays of the novel with a glimpse of Verne's Mysterious Island. The origin of Captain Nemo is revealed!

Rare Blend, instrumental rock jazz fusion group from Cleveland, invites you to their music and film presentation project entitled Bridging The Gap.

Officially launched in 2006, Bridging The Gap combines a live performance from Rare Blend to the screening of a silent film classic (essentially bridging the gap of 80+ years) and is garnering very positive feedback from young and old alike. BTG breathes new life in this vintage art form while generating a new respect for instrumental music and early film works.

All films used are in the public domain with each performance running approximately 90 minutes in length.

The LIVE musical accompaniment for each film comprises of selections from Rare Blend’s 4 CD catalog along with scene specific compositions and improvisations. Each score is different and brings a wonderful modern twist that compliments each film in a way you might not expect.

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea - 1916: It’s story concerns a team of scientists investigating a series of naval disturbances believed to be caused by a sea monster. They soon find the creature is actually the Nautilus, a submarine piloted by Captain Nemo, a hate-driven renegade seaman whose past is both eventually revealed and reconciled. For 1916 it was hailed as one of the most technological advanced film using a new apparatus to film underwater.

Mayfield Village Civic Center--RESERVE HALL - Mayfield Village has recently completed the renovation of an old church sanctuary into a state-of-the-art performing arts hall and is pleased to present a performance by "Rare Blend's - Bridging The Gap" music / film series. The hall is beautiful, the acoustics phenomenal and with less than 200 seats, the atmosphere is intimate. There's not a bad seat in the house!

A fun and artistic experience for all ages!
