ABOUT SHOES AND CLOTHES FOR KIDS
Shoes and Clothes for Kids provides a unique service for families by distributing new shoes, clothing and other items at no cost to children in need through forty social service partner agencies. The organization was founded in 1969 by Morrie Sayre, a Cleveland businessman who made it his mission to ensure that area children had adequate footwear. In 2007, Shoes and Clothes for Kids distributed new clothing and Payless shoe gift cards with a retail value of over $1,700,000 to 25,000 children from income-eligible families throughout Greater Cleveland. Of every dollar donated to Shoes and Clothes for Kids, $0.91 goes directly to the programs and services that benefit the children served. For the second consecutive year, Shoes and Clothes for Kids achieved the coveted 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.
