In honor of Autism Awareness Month, Barnes & Noble in conjunction with the Achievement Centers for Children will host "Let's Be Friends" storytime. The purpose of the event is to raise awareness about autism, a neurobiological disorder that affects 1 in 150 individuals in the U.S.
It can make them think and act a little differently from the rest of us. We're going to read a book that illustrates how one little boy made a significant difference in the life of his friend with autism.
The Achievement Centers for Children will also be on hand with activities for children and information about its services for children with disabilities and their families.
