CityMusic Cleveland, the “top-notch” professional chamber orchestra that presents FREE concerts and art exhibits all over Northeast Ohio, presents “REVOLUTIONARY MUSIC,” in six concerts, May 6-11, 2008. The internationally celebrated violinist Jennifer Koh is featured in Ligeti’s Violin Concerto; the program also includes Vivaldi’s “Sinfonia in B minor (‘Al Santo sepulcro’),” “The Unanswered Question” by Charles Ives, and Beethoven’s Symphony #1. Hear CityMusic’s virtuoso musicians conducted by Music Director James Gaffigan – also associate conductor of the San Francisco Symphony -- in a program that will open your ears, eyes, and heart. The accompanying art exhibit features watercolors by the Plein Art Painters of Cleveland. Hear for yourself how “the music leap[s] from the page” when CityMusic Cleveland plays. All CityMusic Cleveland programs are FREE and everyone is welcome; enjoy free childcare and intermission receptions at most of the venues. For more information: www.CityMusicCleveland.org.
