The gritty industrial buildings of The Quarter house over 100 artists studios and 8 galleries. More than 48 of these studios will be open as part of City Artists at Work 11th Annual Open Studio Tour held on Saturday May 17, from 11am – 6pm, and Sunday May 18, from 12 – 5pm.
For the past 10 years CAAW artists have opened their studios to the public in the fall. This year in celebration of the new Pole Banners and the public naming of The Art Quarter we will open our studios both spring and autumn. CAAW artists will offer live demonstrations of glass blowing, painting, jewelry casting, and pottery techniques, stain glass restoration and much more. Many hands on activities will be available for people of all ages including making collage cards, paper puppets, and paper sculpture. In an ongoing effort to contribute to Cleveland’s cultural well being, and to further develop the relationship between artist and community, City Artists at Work is now in its 11th year of presenting this unique opportunity for the public to get up close and view professional artists’ processes and finished work, and right in their private working studios!
