To Whom It May Concern:

Dear Friend:

We are writing to you in hopes that you will be able to make a donation for a Fundraiser we are putting together for Danny Lea from Brunswick, Ohio.  Danny just turned 11 years old and recently went through a Life Saving Kidney Transplant at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio on February 22, 2008.  Danny is the son of Barb & Dennis Lea and he has one sibling, Denny Lea who is 15.

While Danny is doing very well right now, the cost of the transplant was in excess of $100,000.  Although the family has medical insurance, unfortunately, their insurance will not cover the entire cost of the transplant and subsequent post follow up care.  With the help of volunteers and caring contributors, we as a community have the opportunity to assist a child who has been given the gift of life, but continues to need additional support to help pay for transplant related expenses.

We are throwing together a fundraising benefit to help raise funds for these Transplant-Related Expenses which will help defray the cost of medical treatments.  The Benefit will be a Reverse Raffle which will take place on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the Knights of Columbus (Brooklyn/Parma Post) at 4730 Broadview Road, Cleveland, OH 44109.

We are asking businesses and corporations to help make some donations and or contributions for this fundraiser!  If you can donate some of the prizes or gift baskets to raffle off for the fundraiser that would be great!  We need your help and can not do this alone…please reach into you heart and pocket and help us out for Danny, so that he may continue to live a normal life with his new kidney without the worry of the continued medical bills that will continue throughout his lifetime because of this life-saving transplant.

Danny’s family has asked for assistance from COTA (Children’s Organ Transplant Association) of Bloomington, Indiana, a national non-profit organization that helps children and young adults who need or have had a life saving transplant by raising funds to pay for transplant related expenses.

This organization’s priority is to assure that NO CHILD is denied a transplant or excluded from a transplant waiting list due to a lack of funds.  It is with the help of corporations and individuals and communities that come together to help children like Danny to live a long healthy life without the worry of these expenses.

If your organization would like to help, tax deductible donations may be made in person at any Chase Bank Branch location by using account number 2746813753 or mailed directly to COTA at 2501 COTA Drive, Bloomington, IN 47403.  Checks or Money Orders should be payable to “COTA for Danny L”, secure credit card donations can also be made online at www.cota.org or visit the website for Danny at http://cotafordannyl.com.

We are asking that all direct raffle contributions/prizes/gift baskets/raffle donations etc., for the fundraiser be sent directly to the Campaign Coordinator, to the following address:

COTA for Danny Lea
4222 West 49th Street
Cleveland, OH 44144

Danny’s family will be forever grateful for any contributions you are able to give as well as for your prayers on his behalf.

Thank you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Christy Bell
