All Hail Hurricane Gordo--a slacker comedy for the 21st century. Written by 24 year old Carly Mensch, this play features two very different brothers--Gordo the magnificent, who likes to head-butt his brother in a Chargers helmet and Chaz, the neat, responsible one who falls for the temptations of their new roomate, a young lady named India.
In an historic collaboration, The Play House is co-producing this World Premiere presented at the Humana Festival at Actors Theatre of Louisville this spring. As the major festival of new American plays, Humana has premiered the work of such writers as Arthur Kopit, Tony Kushner, Marsha Norman, Donald Margulies, John Patrick Shanley, and Sarah Ruhl. The Festival attracts audiences from around the world, and three of its plays have won Pulitzer Prizes for Drama.
