Audio Spectrum Recording presents another "live recording" event featuring some of Northeast Ohio's best original music on Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the Beachland Ballroom & Tavern.
Kicking off the festivities will be the acoustic debut of Open Range Torch Songs. Drew Clair (vocals, guitar) and Jennifer O'Neal (violin, vocals, guitar) of the now defunct Cleveland Americana band, Woodshed Mercy, will showcase several new songs not previously recorded on Woodshed Mercy's self-titled debut or "Second Fiddle" CDs. Guest drummer Mike Chipchak (of Crookneck Chandler & the Tibbee Bottom Boys and Martini Five-O) will join them on a few songs.
Next on the bill is the self-described "unintentionally non-profit funky/twangy band," Crookneck Chandler and the Tibbee Bottom Boys, with Jennifer O'Neal playing fiddle. Performing songs from their well-received 2007 debut release, "Aw Yeah!", Crookneck Chandler will throw in some new songs from their next CD, "Coontail Road," along with their quirky and humorous tall tales and jokes.
Capping off this musically eclectic evening will be one of Northeast Ohio's hardest working bands, the Brian Lisik Band. With a brand new CD, a documentary DVD and a "semi-factual-autobiographical-on-and-off-the-road-misadventure novel/memoir" due out in 2008, the Brian Lisik Band will somehow find time to stop by the Beachland Tavern with their brand of roots rock/power pop.
The man behind Audio Spectrum's controls, Clint Holley, is one of the vanguards of this area's Americana/roots rock scene who has produced events such as the Cleveland AmericanaFest. An avid music lover and accomplished musician himself, Holley will digitally record and mix the evening's performances for possible future release. Audio Spectrum offers affordable, quality recording services in studio or on location and has recorded the Whiskey Daredevils, Martini Five-O, Bobby Lanphier and others.
Showtime starts at 8pm, and admission is only $3 for this jam-packed night of roots/rock n'roll! Why, that's cheaper than a beer at some of them trendy joints downtown. See you there!
