Natural Areas Wine Tours 2008 | Wine tastings with a wild side! Co-sponsored by The Cleveland Museum of Natural History and Ohio Wine Producers Association
We've paired tours of five of The Cleveland Museum of Natural History's natural areas with opportunities to taste the vintages produced by several Northern Ohio wineries. See rare plants and animals in their spectacular natural habitats, then discover the unique qualities of Ohio wines. Tasting wine has never been so wild! Each trip is $35.00 per person.
Hubbard Preserve | Saturday, May 10, 2008 The Hubbard Preserve in Ashtabula County contains breathtaking waterfalls on Conneaut Creek and spectacular old growth forest, hemlock ravines, channel ponds, floodplain forests and floodplain meadows. Search for wildflowers and other natural delights, then enjoy lunch and a wine tasting at Markko Vineyard in Conneaut.
About the Natural Areas Wine Tour: Trips will be limited to 30 participants and will have three or four group leaders to make them more meaningful. Natural areas tours will start at 10 a.m. and end around noon. Afterward, participants will travel to the designated winery or private cottage for lunch and a wine tasting. Group leaders will recap the morning’s events and answer questions about the natural areas visited. Each trip is $35 per person. A bed-and-breakfast package will be available for those who wish to stay for the night. BONUS: Those who register and pay for all five trips in advance will receive a beautifully carved wooden walking stick.
