Formed in 2005 by members of semi-successful local bands: Element, Puppet, Resist, Nothing Left, Wrench and Obscured Vision. Scalera used their musical knowledge & experience to fine tune a “new metal/hardcore sound” drawing from influences like Machine Head, Bleeding Through & Deftones.

Scalera gained immediate fan approval and attention by holding their own on a rigorous touring schedule, and opening for heavy-hitters including Hell Yeah, Taproot, Powerman 5000, Disturbed, Silent Civilian, Ill Nino, Brides of Destruction, and Adema to name a few.
