Every year, Akron hosts one of the year's premiere golf tournaments: the Bridgestone Invitational. The Cleveland Professional 20/30 Club is proud to have Mr. Don Padgett, the Executive Director of the tournament as our May Networking at Noon speaker.
Don Padgett III is the Executive Director of the World Golf Championships – Bridgestone Invitational. He has been with the PGA TOUR for several years. From 2000 to 2006, Padgett worked in sales and sponsor relations with various golf events in the PGA TOUR’s Championship Management department in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. In 2007, the role of Bridgestone Invitational executive director brought Padgett, a native of Northeast Ohio, back home.
Padgett grew up in the Akron area and is a graduate of Walsh Jesuit High School. A 1997 graduate of Indiana University He went on to earn a master’s degree in business administration from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio in Marketing. Padgett was also a four-year letterman on his college golf team.
Padgett sits on the Advisory Boards of The First Tee Chapters of Cleveland, Akron and Canton. He is a board member of the Akron/Summit Convention and Visitors Bureau and serves on the Greater Akron Chamber, Small Business Council. Padgett and his wife, Kellie, have two children, Don IV and Rebecca. Padgett’s father, Don Padgett II, was general manager of Firestone Country Club for 24 years and is now the president of the Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina.
