Free star shows, take home space crafts, special celestial guests and interactive workshops will highlight Astronomy Day, Saturday, May 10 at Lake Erie Nature & Science Center in Bay Village.
Free "Astronomy Day" Activities & Speakers: 10:30 a.m. - Space Craft – Take home a celestial creation 12:30 p.m. - Comet Making Demonstration – See how comets are formed 1:30 p.m. - Telescope Tips – Users and buyers workshop 2 p.m. - NASA Speaker– Find out about Project Orion which aims to send human explorers back to the moon, then on to Mars and beyond!
Free "Astronomy Day" Planetarium Programs: 11 a.m. - Twinkle Tots Noon - Stellar Stars 1 p.m. - Backyard Astronomy 3 & 4 p.m. - Mini Star Shows 7 p.m. - Special Moon Presentation & Spring Constellations 8:15 p.m. - Telescope Viewing - weather permitting *Planetarium seating is limited; first come, first served.
Special Appearances throughout the day by: EVA, The Inflatable Astronaut (morning only) NASA Solar Telescopes (weather permitting) Cuyahoga Astronomical Association
