EVENT NEWS NASA Glenn Open House
May 17 and 18, 2008 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
NASA's Glenn Research Center is opening the doors to its Lewis Field Campus in Cleveland, Ohio, for two full days. This is a unique opportunity for visitors of all ages to see what lies behind the gates of NASA Glenn.
Join us on May 17 and 18 to explore the frontiers of air and space, where scientific research becomes the foundation for everyday applications. Our enthusiastic staff will guide you through world-class facilities and show you the technologies behind some of the nation's greatest innovations. You'll even see the work we're conducting to return America to the moon, including parts of Ares I, NASA's new rocket. Each event will feature activities for kids. And it's all free!
Security Notice:
All adult visitors are required to present government-issued photo identification, such as a driver's license. All persons are subject to search. NO firearms, weapons, munitions, chemicals, illegal drugs or contraband allowed. Violators are subject to arrest.
Foreign nationals must present a Permanent Resident Card, Passport with Visa if not from a Visa waiver country, or a Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) compliant document. Please note that citizens of countries designated because of a special concern or interest by the U.S. government may be denied access. Foreign nationals should call (216) 433-2291 in advance to determine their country's status.

Educational Activities - Education specialists and friendly volunteers will lead a variety of hands-on, minds-on activities to inspire the next generation of explorers. Plus, teachers can learn about valuable resources to enhance their classroom activities. photo of employee and visitors
Special Programs - Find out more about NASA's past, present and future while attending a special program in the Visitor Center auditorium and on other stages. Most programs will include question-and answer-sessions with our researchers. Check this page later for detailed schedules, including possible astronaut appearances.

Getting Here - Because of security and space limitations, on-site public parking will only be available to people with handicap parking permits. We are working to provide convenient public transportation and/or off-site parking alternatives. Please check this page later for details.
Preparing for Your Visit - First and foremost, please review the security notice above to make sure your arrival goes as smoothly as possible. Shuttle buses will be provided for senior citizens and others with limited mobility. Strollers are acceptable, but we recommend the smaller, collapsible models that you can carry on our shuttle buses. Pack lightly. All bags will be subject to search.
