Engelbert Humperdinck’s November 17th, 8 pm show at Playhouse Square’s State Theatre had to be postponed due to the performer’s personal scheduling conflicts.
The new show will be Wed., May 7, 2008 at 8 pm in the State Theatre. Since the new date did not necessitate a venue change, ticket holders’ original tickets, dated Nov. 17th, will be honored (with no exchange necessary) for the May 7th concert.
Celebrating his 40th anniversary of touring, Engelbert Humperdinck is back. Engelbert's music has transcended time, and his honeyed, mellow voice still continues to reach out to people now - serving to transport and inspire us, to embrace and uplift us, and to provoke feelings and emotion, ingredients that are no doubt the essence of his long-lasting success. Romance serves as the core of Engelbert's music and lasting success. The reigning "Rex of Romance" pours his mellow voice over each note. He has received four Grammy nominations, a Golden Globe for Entertainer of the Year (1988) and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His most memorable hits are: "After the Lovin'," "The Last Waltz," "Spanish Eyes" and "Release Me."
