7th Annual Benefit for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum

Saturday, May 10, 2008

Public Hall at the Cleveland Convention Center

The All-Star Benefit will include performances from:

* Patty Smyth ("The Warrior,” “Goodbye to You")
* Sugarhill Gang ("Rapper’s Delight")
* Lou Gramm of Foreigner ("Cold As Ice,” “Feels Like the First Time")
* Howard Hewett of Shalamar ("The Second Time Around,” “Don’t Get Stopped in Beverly Hills")
* Rob Parissi of Wild Cherry ("Play that Funky Music White Boy")
* Roy Head ("Treat Her Right,” “Just a Little Bit")

The house band will feature:

* Ricky Byrd (Joan Jett, Roger Daltrey) on guitar
* Jeff Carlisi (.38 Special) on guitar
* Rob Arthur (Joan Osborne, Peter Frampton) on keys
* Liberty Devitto (Billy Joel) on drums
* Will Lee (The Late Show with David Letterman) on bass



Individual Tickets will go on sale to the public for $15 on Monday, April 7.
Tickets can be purchased at the Museum’s box office or through Ticketmaster at www.ticketmaster.com.

Individual tickets to the benefit are available for as low as $15. Those purchasing a ticket to the Rock Hall Benefit through www.ticketmaster.com will be automatically entered to win a pair of tickets to the 2009 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremonies in Cleveland or a package of two tickets to each of Live Nation’s summer Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee concerts: Eric Clapton, Blossom, May 31; James Taylor, Blossom, June 3; Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers w/ Steve Winwood, Blossom, June 22; Earth, Wind and Fire, Plain Dealer Pavilion, July 26; Rod Stewart (Bryan Adams will be an opening act), Blossom, August 9. Rolling Stone Magazine Internship
If you are enthusiastic in learning every aspect of magazine publishing from the iconic Rolling Stone Magazine, then this is the experience of a lifetime for you. This internship may start in the fall of 2008, or spring of 2009 for a maximum of one semester and may be used for college credit.

All ticket purchases and auction proceeds benefit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum’s nationally-acclaimed educational programs.

The Cause

The Rock Hall It’s Only Rock and Roll Benefit proceeds will support the Museum’s increasingly popular educational programming which explores the impact that modern music has had on our culture, politics and society. Tens of thousands of students and visitors of all ages are reached annually in Northeast Ohio, across the country and around the world through the Rock Hall’s public programming.

More than 25,000 Northeast Ohio students and teachers are reached annually through the popular Rockin’ the Schools program. Nearly 10,000 students in more than 25 states across the country and in Canada, Mexico and Australia have experienced On the Road, the Rock Hall’s distance learning program. The Museum’s Toddler Rock program has served more than 4,000 at-risk three to five year-olds in Cleveland. On Wednesday evenings each month the Museum hosts free educational programs for adults including From Songwriters to Soundman: The People Behind the Hits, Rock and Roll Night School and Teachers Rock for area educators.
