Event Name: Funny Frog and Lucky Ladybug
Event Type: Stitchery Workshop
Description: This project is a fun class for an adult-child team. The child will learn basic stitching while creating his or her choice of Funny Frog or Lucky Ladybug – with a little assistance from the adult half of the team. The fun duo is stitched on 10-count canvas, using just three different stitches. The kit includes all the materials except the stuffing for both pieces. Start one in class and take the other home to work on your own. There is no age limit for the child, but we suggest that children from 7 to13 would enjoy the class.
The cost of the class is just $26 per child for the kit and lunch, and $6 optional lunch for the adult accompanying that child. The only special items you will need are a pair of scissors, a set of 8”x8” stretcher bars, and thumbtacks. The class is open to any Stan Hywet member – you do not need to be a member of the Needlework Guild to attend! We invite all to join us for a fun stitching session!
The class will be Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in the Manor House Auditorium, starting at 9:30 a.m. We will break for lunch at noon. After lunch, you are free to tour the Manor House, the grounds, or the Conservatory – or find a comfortable spot on the grounds and continue to stitch.

About the teacher – Debbie Stiehler is an international needleart designer, teacher, and lecturer. She has taught at many seminars, guilds, and privately in the U. S. and Canada. She currently resides in South Carolina. Debbie is a Level 2 graduate in teacher certification from the National Academy of Needlearts. She is also an EGA Master Craftsman in canvas embroidery and is Assistant Director of Teacher Certification for NAN.
