Professor Wylde's Animal Show

A new character takes over summer shows at the Zoo's Amphitheater in 2008. Professor Wylde's Animal Show offers visitors an eye-catching and educational program about wildlife, featuring free-flying birds, a two-toed sloth and a fennec fox.
Professor Wylde gives his "students" a fun look at how the Zoo designs exhibits for its animals and shares tips for doing little things at home to promote conservation.
Professor Wylde's Animal Show is free with Zoo admission.
The 2008 "cast" may include the following:
* An Australian bird trio
* Bo, a greater sulphur-crested cockatoo, whose head-turning antics always get a laugh
* Mr. Palm, a palm cockatoo, the largest and rarest of the cockatoos
* Mel(bourne), a rose-breasted cockatoo who mimics questions
* Fiki, an African guinea fowl
* Phyl, an Egyptian vulture who swoops in over the audience to demonstrate free-flying behaviors
* Mali and Egypt, two female African fennec foxes, who show off their burrowing and unique prey capture methods. These foxy ladies weigh three pounds each and are among the smallest canines in the world.
* Slomo, a two-toed sloth and South American rain forest native, who offers a different perspective as she spends most of her life hanging upside down
* Two fast-flying North American peregrine falcons
* Cameo appearances by Choctaw, an American alligator, and Cucumber, a 14-foot-long Burmese python
During the summer, the 20-minute show is performed daily at 11:30 a.m., 1:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. at the Zoo Amphitheater. The daily Wild Animal Show runs through the end of August and is free with regular Zoo admission. The show is held on weekends only through the end of September.
