Fly over to Cleveland Metroparks Bat Gala event on Saturday, August 23 from 5 to 11 p.m. at The
Shelterhouse Picnic Area in South Chagrin Reservation. Bats have an undeserved bad reputation,
but visitors can learn how bats are important to the environment. This night of free, batty fun
features great batty activities for kids and adults, alike including bat crafts, bat songs & stories
around the campfire, bat games, bat presentations & exhibits, bat gardening, and more! And,
see special bat presentations with Rob Mies from the Organization for Bat Conservation. Mies
has been featured on Conan O’Brien, Live with Regis and Kelly, Martha Stewart Living and
National Geographic. Then, hang around for the Bat Gala “Movie on the Lawn.”
Presentations, live bat talks, crafts, songs, stories, and more offered from 5-8 p.m.
Movie on the lawn begins at 8:45 p.m.
