Docent Training Application

Take your involvement at the Museum to the next level as a volunteer.

Volunteers can work behind the scenes or with the public. If you enjoy sharing your enthusiasm for the Museum and natural history with others, consider becoming a Museum docent. This group of specially trained volunteers gives public tours, interprets special exhibitions and helps out at special events.

Docent Training Schedule
Docent Training: The Museum at your Fingertips

Wednesday evenings and Saturdays, Sept 10 through Nov 22, 2008
Wednesdays: 6 to 9 pm
Saturdays: noon to 5 pm
Nancy Howell, Docent Coordinator

You can find out more about the Museum and help others discover the fascinating realm of natural history by becoming a docent. Docents are volunteers trained to lead Museum tours for the public and assist the Education Division in providing educational programs. You’ll benefit from this opportunity to teach others in the pleasant surroundings of the Museum.

No prior teaching experience or knowledge of natural history is necessary, but a zeal for learning and sharing information with visitors of all ages is a must! Those 18 years and older are encouraged to apply.

Free with Museum membership
Please contact Nancy Howell, Docent Coordinator, at (216) 231-4600, ext. 3225, or nhowell@cmnh.org for additional information and an application form.
