Kara Markley Fiddles, Vocals, and Keyboards Kara began her musical career at a very early age. She is an accomplished vocalist and instrumentalist. In addition to fiddle, Kara also plays flute, whistle and piano. She has studied fiddle with renowned players Eileen Ivers of Riverdance fame, Cape Breton’s Natalie MacMaster, Scotland’s John McCuster and Ohio fiddling sensation, Deborah Colón. Craig and Kara’s performances feature her expressive fiddle and unique vocal stylings in several different languages. “…an impressive singer with a great pedigree and a bright future ahead.”-Steve Winick-Dirty Linen Craig Markley Keyboards, Accordions, Whistles, Guitar Craig started playing professionally at a very young age, and has performed various styles of music throughout his career. He sings and plays piano, guitar, accordions, tin whistle, and bodhran, among other weird percussion instruments. Craig is also an accomplished composer and arranger, and was co-founder of the well-known Celtic band, “Stark Raven”, with which he performed for over 12 years. His compositions have been featured on radio programs throughout the world, and he has played on over 25 recordings. “His self penned tunes are both evocative and musically sensual, and songs like “Mother Beware” and “Our Father's Garden” display a sensitivity of touch, and thoughtful sentiments expressed with a quiet eloquence….. highly articulate and expertly crafted.”John O'Regan-Folk Roots Sid Omasta-Mandolin, Acoustic Bass, Fiddle, Guitar Born and raised in western Massachusetts, Sid received a B.A. in Geography from Clark University. His geography degree came in handy as, immediately thereafter, Sid began his career as a traveling musician, and has performed non-stop in a variety of music configurations including everything from old time string band music to jazz. Aside from his busy performing schedule, he has also conducted a variety of workshops along with such musicians as national hammered dulcimer champion, Mark Wade, and jazz pianist, Bradley Sowash. Being a fine multi-instrumentalist and arranger, Sid is in constant demand as a side musician for many local recording projects.
