McGregor Retirement Community in association with Home Instead Senior Care will be hosting the 52-quilt traveling exhibit of quilts that tell a story about Alzheimer’s on Thursday, May 29th through Sunday June 1st, 2008.
The beautiful work of 52 international renowned quilt artists from 30 states is represented in the exhibit. Each artist offers poignant interpretation of the Alzheimer experience in fiber. They are quilts of heartbreak and hope, and each artist statement is paired with a fact about Alzheimer’s.
More than 175,000 people have had the opportunity to see the exhibit since its premier in August 2006 in Nashville. It will travel the United States until 2009 and hopefully be seen by half a million people
A representative from the Alzheimer’s Association will present educational topics on Thursday, May 29th from 12 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Friday, May 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
