Hudson will transform into a 19th Century village on Saturday, September 13, 2008, as the community remembers it’s rich heritage and celebrates its long and colorful history. Planned are re-enactments from the era complete with the popular porch stories tours, a chuck wagon dinner on the clock town green, bake sales, beverages and snacks reminiscent of the early 1800’s and colorful street performers.
Hudsonites take great pride in both the community’s history and historic residents such as David Hudson, John Brown and James W. Ellsworth. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Hudson’s role in the Underground Railroad, superior architecture and dedication to commerce and education which helped shape the surrounding region, will be celebrated throughout the event.
Hudson History Days will take place Saturday, September 13 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. with activities taking place on the Clock Tower & Village Green, First & Main Green, Acme Plaza and the Hudson Library and Historical Society.
