The second Veterans Memorial Bridge and subway tour will be held, in conjunction with the Flats Oxbow's July 4th Waterfront Festival, on Saturday, July 5, 2008. Come see what people are talking about! Visitors will walk the lower level, through the old streetcar station,over the span of the bridge to the eastern end. There are fascinating films to watch and exhibits to observe.
The gates to this free, self-guided tour will open at 9:00 a.m. and will close at 3:00 p.m. Ther are no reservations and visitors are to come at any time between the aforementioned hours.
The entrance to the tour is located at 2433 Superior Viaduct (the County Engineer's Bridge garge on the western end of the bridge). Free parking is available here, as well. Volunteers will be on traffic detail and assisting with parking. Cameras are encouraged and the event is wheelchair and stroller accessible. This is an all age event. The final tour for 2008 is being held on August 30, 2008.
