Looking for some summer fun in Cleveland? Come find your “inner child” with guest musical artist and tuba player Phillip C. Black (principal tuba of the Wichita Symphony Orchestra and tuba professor at Wichita State University) live in recital on Friday, July 18, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in Harkness Chapel, on the campus of Case Western Reserve University. The concert is free and features music that is sure to please audience members of all ages and tastes, including plenty of opportunities for audience participation. The program selections include Aboriginal Voices for tuba and jungle sounds, Doodles: Variations on Yankee Doodle, Fractured Mambos for tuba and electronic big-band, the chicken dance, the Harlem Globetrotters theme, tuba duets, and more “fun stuff.” At 4:00 P.M. Mr. Black will present a masterclass for students that is also free and open to the public.
