Synopsis: Helena, the daughter of the president of a major industrial power, arrives at the island factory of Rossum's Universal Robots (R.U.R.). She meets Domin, the General Manager of R.U.R., who tells her about the company and how humanoid robots are taking the place of human workers.

Helena meets scientists Dr. Gall, Fabry, and Alquist and reveals she is a representative of a human rights organization whose goal is to free the robots.  Dr. Gall is secretly making the robots more human.  The outcome will surprise you.
