Cleveland, Ohio - Audio Spectrum is proud to announce the return of the Americana Music Festival for 2008. Beginning with a handful of bands at the inaugural event in 2005, Americana Fest, as it is sometimes called, has grown steadily each year. This year marks its most ambitious undertaking yet, with events covering three days and multiple venues.
The 2008 Americana Music Festival kicks off Thursday, August 28, with the “Audio Spectrum Family Reunion” at Prosperity Social Club followed by live music from Bobby Lanphier and the Bitter Disappointments. On Friday, August 29, there will be two shows: one at Sachsenheim Hall with headliners Rambler 454, and a Songwriter Showcase, presented by Dangus Kincaid Records, at the Hi-Fi in Lakewood. The Americana Music Festival wraps up on Sunday, August 31, with headliner Deke Dickerson and the Ecco-Fonics at the Beachland Ballroom and Tavern. There will be a BBQ in the parking lot, and the Beachland’s two stages will feature twelve local/regional bands. (Please see next page for complete lineup and venues.)
The man behind Audio Spectrum, owner/engineer Clint Holley, is an avid music lover and an accomplished musician/songwriter himself. Holley, front man for Hayshaker Jones, works tirelessly to support and promote Cleveland’s close-knit roots rock/Americana music scene. He views the Americana Music Fest as “a chance for the public to enjoy some of the most interesting local and touring acts that fall under the vast umbrella of the term ‘Americana Music‘”.
For people wondering what Americana music is, Holley describes it as “a loose subset of American roots music that is perhaps best defined as ‘classic American music‘ ranging in style from folk, country blues, bluegrass, alternative country, rockabilly, neo-traditional and roots rock.”
