The Butler Institute of American Art will present the work of nationally known Ohio artist Cathie Bleck beginning September 14 through October 26, 2008. An artist's reception, lecture and book signing will be held from 2-4pm Sunday September 14th.
Bleck, a Chicago native, will unveil new works in this solo exhibition entitled, "Becoming Human" with over 20 paintings created with kaolin clay pigments and ink in the Davis Gallery. These works range in size from intimate to large-scale. Also included in the exhibition are severals works from the artist's monograph "Open Spaces" as well as works on paper, prints and sketchbooks.
