Hitchcock’s most revered film is a moody, haunting masterpiece that was voted second best movie of all time (right behind Citizen Kane) in a 2002 poll of international film critics conducted by Britain’s Sight and Sound magazine. Jimmy Stewart plays a retired San Francisco police detective who becomes romantically obsessed with a mysterious married woman (Kim Novak) he has been hired to shadow. Music by Bernard Herrmann. 35mm. 128 min. Introduced by CWRU music professor Daniel Goldmark; CWRU students & staff $6 (with I.D.).
