Love blossoms like a slow-opening flower in this gentle, poetic film set in a small, desolate Thai coastal town devastated by the 2004 tsunami and haunted by ghosts of 8,000 victims. The lovers are a Bangkok architect who has come to oversee a new beachfront development and the manager of the small, empty hotel where he stays. This acclaimed debut film evokes the wispy world of fellow Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul.
