This is one of the best British thrillers ever made, and the late-career triumph for a celebrated auteur best known for his Val Lewton-produced 1940s horror films The Cat People and I Walked with a Zombie. Dana Andrews plays a man of science who resists believing that an ancient parchment inscribed with runes has caused a series of deaths. We will show Sony Pictures’ 35mm studio archive print of the original British cut of this classic, 12 minutes longer than the re-titled American version, Curse of the Demon. 95 min.
