The first dramatic feature by documentarian Chris Smith (American Movie, The Yes Men) takes place in India, though it’s based on a short story set in Iowa. It follows a poor young man from a rural village who works as a hotel housekeeper. One day he spots a beautiful and alluring swimming pool on a distant hillside, and he becomes obsessed with this shimmering oasis and the wealthy people who own it. “A deceptively simple, deeply moving gem of a film.” –The Hollywood Reporter.
