Chagrin Valley Little Theatre presents Guys & Dolls in Concert!, for one weekend only, from October 3-5, 2008. In this concert version of Frank Loesser’s revered Broadway show, set design is stripped away to make way for a full orchestra performing onstage with the cast. This historic run marks the first time that the concert version of Guys & Dolls has been presented at a theater in Northeast Ohio.
Under the direction of Don Edelman and the musical direction of Stephen Eva, some of the area’s finest performers will sing the show’s classics, including “Luck be a Lady,” “If I Were a Bell,” “Adelaide’s Lament,” and “I’ve Never Been in Love Before,” while being accompanied by a 25-piece orchestra. Veteran performers are returning to the stage to reprise their roles from the Theatre’s original run of Guys & Dolls more than 35 years ago.
SPECIAL LUNCHEON: A three-course luncheon will precede the Sunday matinee show on October 5 and be held at Gamekeeper’s Tavern from 12-2 p.m. For just $25 (all inclusive; advance tickets required), you will enjoy:
* an appetizer (soup or garden salad)
* main course (penne pasta with grilled chicken, grilled salmon, eggs benedict, or beef tenderloin)
* Dessert (sorbet or strawberry mascarpone)
* Non alcoholic beverage (coffee, tea, iced tea, soft drink)
