T.R. Ericsson: Thanksgiving The Sculpture Center, 1834 E. 123rd St, Cleveland, OH 44106 November 7- December 20, 2008 Opening Nov 7, 5:30- 8, Artist Talk at 6:30 Euclid Gallery
T. R. Ericsson's is a confessional art, manifested in a rich variety of media and unsparing in its self-examination. Though his work frequently deals with the minutiae of his own life, he touches largely on issues that are common to all, not least love, mortality, and the pursuit of meaning in life. Ericsson's art is one of disclosure, using his life events in works ranging from storytelling, drawing, video, installation, photography, book works, and sculpture. Thanksgiving is an installation in the Euclid Avenue Gallery memorializing an individual‟s voice. Ericsson‟s 14th edition of his self-published, serial bookwork Thirst will accompany the installation and include a limited edition multiple. Also on view will be a collection of previous editions. The Thanksgiving installation at the Sculpture Center is being held in conjunction with Narcissus, an exhibition of Ericsson‟s recent graphite drawings at Shaheen Modern and Contemporary Art, located at 740 W. Superior Ave., Suite 101, Cleveland, opening Nov. 15 running through Dec. 20.
All events at The Sculpture Center are free of charge.
