Biography When she lays down South American grooves on guitar, audiences are hard-pressed to tell that Emily Pinkerton is a native of the Midwest. Born and raised in Valparaiso, Indiana, her musical education carried her to Valparaiso, Chile, inspiring a decade of immersion in Latin American music. Lyrical and hypnotic, her original songs merge the distinct musical streams of Old-Time Banjo and South American guitar. The Santiago Times has called her clear, haunting voice "the epitome of loneliness... and a portal for the familiarity that only home can bring."
Emily has performed across North and South America, playing venues such as SXSW (South by Southwest), Makor (NYC), Mulholland Nights (LA), the Cactus Café (TX), La Casa en el Aire (Santiago, Chile) and Kamikaze (Cusco, Peru). On fiddle, banjo and guitar, she has shared the stage with artists such as as Divahn, Glen Velez, Stacy Phillips, Erika Luckett and the Chieftains.
Instrumentation Voice, guitar, fiddle, banjo
