This trip will focus on searching likely habitats and historical sites that once hosted the extremely rare Mitchell's Satyr butterfly. Other, more common butterflies -- such as the Wood Nymph, Little Wood Satyr, Northern Pearly Eye and Eyed Brown, including the Appalachian Eyed Brown -- resemble this rare species, so our search may yield some of these look-alikes. Join us for a trek at Gott Fen that could yield this wonderful rarity.
