The Chef's Garden, on behalf of the Veggie U children's program (www.veggieu.org), will welcome more than 40 of the nation's top chefs for an evening of culinary delights at their 7th Annual Food & Wine Celebration (http://www.veggieu.org/assets/misc/2009FWC.htm) on July 18, 2009 from 4PM to 9PM. The event will be held at the Culinary Vegetable Institute, located at 12304 Mudbrook Rd. (Ohio State Route 13), Milan, OH 44846 (www.culinaryvegetableinstitute.com).
This year, special guests and participants include:
Guest of Honor, Chef Alex Guaranschelli, executive chef at Butter Restaurant, NYC, who has appeared on Iron Chef America as both a challenger and a judge, and is currently featured as a judge on The Food Network's, Chopped program.
Author Michael Ruhlman, author and journalist with noted works such as The Soul of a Chef, The Elements of Cooking: Translating the Craft for Every Kitchen, and Ratio: The Simple Codes Behind the Craft of Everyday Cooking. Ruhlman has appeared on Cooking Under Fire on PBS, Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, and has been featured as a judge on the Next Iron Chef and Iron Chef America.

Exhibits and vendor booths;
and Tours of the Experimental Gardens surrounding the Culinary Vegetable Institute.
Event proceeds will benefit the Veggie U 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization dedicated to teaching good nutrition to fourth grade students across the country by fostering a synergy between educational, nutritional and agricultural goals to combat obesity and diet-related diseases.
