July is one of the most exciting times to visit a swamp. Wildflowers are in bloom and possibly native orchids as well. Insects, amphibians and reptiles are abundant. We'll look for ferns and special swampland trees, such as the pumpkin ash. There is no shortage of birds at this time of year, though they are more difficult to locate. Work up a thirst on this trip into Northeast Ohio’s outback. Afterward, sample wines and enjoy lunch at Debonné Vineyards.
