Back by popular demand, Chautauqua-in-Chagrin 2009 presents a season filled with stimulating lectures by world-renowned speakers from the famed Chautauqua Institution as well as inspiring performances from musicians throughout the region, all in the heart of charming Chagrin Falls. Beginning on July 14 at venues throughout the village, it's a summer series that will pique your interest, stretch your mind, and soothe your spirits.
July 14: State of Mind - featuring Roberth Toth & Frank Peabody from The Merton Center of Contemplative Living and Stephen M. Sagar, MD, president of Society for Integrative Oncology.
July 28: What Makes Us Moral? - featuring Rev. Dr. Joan Brown Campbell of the Chautauqua Institution and The Right Rev. V. Gene Robinson, Bishop of New Hampshire
August 11: Imagine A World at Peace through Compassion - featuring Karen Armstrong, TED winner, and Rev. Dr. James Alexander Forbes, host of "The Time is Now" on Air America
August 18: Cuba and Its People, Our Neighbors - featuring Ofelia Ortega-Suarez, member of the Cuban Parliament, and Julia Sweig, senior fellow and director of Latin America Studies, Council on Foreign Relations
