Join GroundWorks DanceTheater are the Heinz Poll 2009 Summer Dance Festival at Akron's Glendale Cemetery July 31 and August 1. Performances begin at dusk and are free. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a beautiful summer evening with music and dance in honor of the founder of The Ohio Ballet, Heniz Poll.
The program will include the Akron premiere of "Boom Boom" by Artistic Director David Shimotakahara, a tribute to the legends of the American Blues, including John Lee Hooker, Aretha Franklin, Odetta and others, as well as "Allow" by Artistic Associate Amy Miller with original music by Oberlin's Alex Christie.
