Hovorka Atrium - Case Western Reserve
November 04, 2009
The Flora Stone Mather Center for Women at Case Western Reserve University would like to invite you to our annual Project on Men and Gender (PMG). This program, which takes place every fall, features programs and workshops that explore masculinity, men’s violence, gender stereotypes, and healthy relationships in the interest of reducing violence against women. This year’s PMG program will feature a film screening of The Price of Pleasure: Pornography, Sexuality, and Relationships. The Price of Pleasure features interviews with scholars of mass media, economics, psychology, writers on pornography and popular culture, as well as producers and performers from the pornography industry.
The movie will be followed by discussion and a Q & A with Dr. Robert Jensen, Professor at the University of Texas. Dr. Jensen served as a consultant on the movie and serves on the faculty at the School of Journalism at the University of Texas. Dr. Jensen is also the author of "The Price of Pleasure: Pornography and the End of Masculinity." Dr. Jensen has been an activist in the feminist movement against sexual violence and the exploitation of the commercial sex industry.
This year's Project on Men and Gender will take place at 7 p.m. on November 4th, 2009. It will be in the Hovorka Atrium. Admittance is free.
If you have any further questions, feel free to call the Flora Stone Mather Center for Women at (216) 368-0985 or e-mail cmm87@case.edu.
