AAWR member and Archived Artist Kathleen McKenna is a figurative painter, professor, and internationally acclaimed artist. Throughout her extensive career she has exhibited throughout the Cleveland community at such iconic establishments as the Cleveland Clinic, Play House Square, and Cleveland State University. Her work has been internationally recognized through the Art in Embassies Program and Allied Artists of America. McKenna is known for her brilliant use of color in expressing the challenging forms of the human figure.
Contrasting McKenna’s human figure subject matter in the Women + Paint exhibition are the sculptures of Archived Artist Charlotte Lees. Lees has a unique approach to creating sculpture using painterly techniques to create intimate landscapes with a two dimensional quality. She uses a variety of materials, including wood, metal, and glass, that are often combined to create beautiful patterns and shapes. Lees has exhibited throughout the U.S. including California, Missouri, West Virginia, and at venues all over Ohio.
