Water: H2O=Life
Water, this planet's precious resource, plays a huge role in our lives. It surrounds us, covering nearly three-quarters of Earth’s surface. It sustains us as an essential component to life on Earth. And today, it challenges us to be more conscious of its consumption. Experience water as never before in this engaging and thought-provoking exhibition for the whole family.
Enter the exhibition through a wall of fog into a world of wonder that invites you to explore the many ways water impacts life on Earth. Learn about how life adapts to some of the wettest and driest conditions on the planet. Touch water in its three physical states and examine the water cycle projected on a 68-inch globe.
Experience water’s power and majesty as you walk through a recreation of a water-carved slot canyon and view a diorama of a floating Cambodian fishing village. Discover the many ways that people have put water to use throughout history, then see how it is used today in our everyday lives.
Learn about the many challenges related to humanity’s sustainable management and use of this life-giving, but finite resource. Uncover new ways that people are working to conserve this precious substance and what you can do to help.
Water: H2O=Life encourages you to re-discover water in a whole new way and take action to combat one of the most important issues facing the 21st century. Come learn about water as if your life depends on it – because it does!
Water: H2O=Life opens Saturday, November 14, 2009.
