As the host of the popular public radio talk show, The Diane Rehm Show, which is distributed nationally and internationally by NPR and NPR Worldwide, Diane Rehm has interviewed many high-profile political and cultural figures during her 36 years in radio. In 1998, her career nearly came to a halt because of a mysterious speech problem which was finally diagnosed as spasmodic dysphonia, a neurological disorder. Not one to be defeated, she returned to the show and made a point of bringing attention to the condition. Diane has been the recipient of many awards and has written two autobiographical books.
