On November 8 - 10, 2009, the Scholars for Peace in the Middle East (SPME) are offering a 2-day conference, "The Islamic Republic of Iran: Multidisciplinary Analyses of its Theocracy, Nationalism, and Assert of Power," at the Marriott Downtown at Key Center. Invited keynote speakers include Andrew Apostolu (Freedome House), Edwin Black (journalist/author), Patrick Clawson (Washington Institute for Near East Policy), Irwin Cotler (MP, Canada), AMB Jackie Wolcott (US Special Envoy for Nuclear Nonproliferation), among other distinguished guests.
