Helen Welch "Jingle Bell Swing" Featuring: Rock Wehrmann-piano, Bryan Thomas-bass,& Chris Baker-drums Thursday & Friday, December 17-18 Thurs. 8 PM Fri. 2 shows at 7 & 9 PM $20. Helen Welch is well known to her fans at Nighttown. A British transplant, she has turned many an ear since arriving in NE Ohio in 2003. Helen brings a wealth of experience with her including tenures as the featured vocalist with the BBC Big Band, Glenn Miller Europe, and The Opus One Big Band and String Orchestra. Helen broke onto the United States theatrical scene when she performed in the smash-hit Leiber and Stoller musical, Smokey Joe’s Café at the Virginia Theatre on Broadway.
She performs frequently in the region’s most popular entertainment venues, either with her quartet, or with renowned musical organizations such as The Cleveland Orchestra, the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and the Columbus Jazz Orchestra.
‘Jingle Bell Swing’ is going to swing into Nighttown on December 17 and 18. The show features Helen’s well known partners-in-crime, Rock Wehrman on the piano along with Bryan Thomas on bass and Chris Baker on drums.
The audience will be treated to a feel-good show that will make their toes tap! Including swingin’ renditions of traditional holiday favorites including ‘Jingle Bells, Sleigh Ride” and ‘Let it Snow’, and will rock the house with songs including ‘Joyful, Joyful’ and ‘Joy To The World’ plus contemporary classics such as ‘You Raise Me Up’ and ‘Grown Up Christmas List’.
